It's here !!!
We won !

We are ready to serve the best interests of our town.

The numbers...
881 votes were cast on Tuesday. 
 
About 60 absentee ballots will shortly be counted but will not change the outcome stated below from Tuesday's machine counting.
 We had a record turnout for a local election: 61% 
 
Thank you everyone!  Milan is firmly on a new course.

 Town Council position #1 - 850 votes cast
 Diane May    477 - 56%

Accomplishments

Our Goals

• Produced a Comprehensive Plan proposal, the first in 19 years.


• Joined Greenway Compact and started a Conservation Advisory Council


• Implemented Conservation Easements to protect open space


• Reduced town tax growth, stabilized taxes


• Opened up closed government, expanded volunteerism and citizen participation


• Improved accounting system, cleaned upTown books and received positive letter from NYS Comptroller's Office


• Applied for and received $30,000 in grants


• Resolved contract issues: Fire Dept., Woody Row tower, Town Hall construction, transfer station


• Established youth programs

• Implement the Plan's new zoning provisions to protect Milan from sprawl and keep Milan rural.

• Adopt natural resource protections.

• Expand open government initiatives; keep Town Clerk office open 5 days/week.

• Increase Planning/Building dept. support to better protect and enforce land use in town.

• Establish citizen committees to deal with school tax issues, highway standards, hamlet development, trails, and more.

• Increase Town Board accessibility by having regular open office hours.

• Keep taxes low; maintain efficient government

• Ensure protections from mining and other industrial uses in our residential areas
