Baloney...
suitable for sandwiches, not a foundation for the future

Fresh out of the envelope !
Al LoBrutto's recent letter had so much baloney we gave it a page here

The following is a list, (that is unfortunately likely to grow) of rebuttals to letters and flyers that have arrived long before our campaign, some through mysterious channels, to illustrate the great measures some will go through to distort the facts. Given that the Milan GOP is attacking individuals, citizen groups, political parties and volunteer efforts we will keep a running total of all of them.

In case you havent seen them...
All GOP attacks on the Comprehensive Plan are addressed here !

They just can't stop themselves.

Even more baloney here

Their attack :
The Facts:
When Carvel, which had a representative in attendance at the CPB meetings, told
Talmage and Williams that it did not want to be included as a PPD, they were taken out
immediately.
The CPB wanted to include Carvel as a PPD so Milan might benefit from commercial development to improve its tax base, not just get new houses, and to help us negotiate other benefits for the Town. After Al LoBrutto insisted in a workshop attended by a Carvel representative that Milan should do nothing for Carvel, Durst moved all its commercial utility projects to Pine Plains, thus depriving Milan of all the potential tax benefits.

But when the residents of the hamlets said the same thing, Talmage and his “team” ignored them. Whose interests does Talmage serve? Who are the ones calling the shots? Certainly not the residents of the hamlets! On August 21, the former CPB members wrote unanimously to the Town Board that the two petitions supported by Balletto, LoBrutto and Campbell "contain language that seriously misrepresents the proposed plan" and that "some 70% of the signers do not live in or adjacent to the hamlets but elsewhere in Town, and even outside Milan." And why did Balletto, LoBrutto and Campbell accept these petitions yet completely ignore two other citizen-initiated surveys of verified hamlet residents that strongly support the concepts? Whose interests do they serve?
Talmage speaks about listening to the public, yet he goes against their wishes. In the four public hearings on the original and revised Comprehensive Plans, more than 80% of the speakers strongly supported the original Plan
In 2003 the Milan Democrats spent over $15,000 electing Talmage, Combe-Clark, and LoBrutto. Without this effort, today we would now have at least one new industrial gravel mine in Milan.
The old adage is apparently true:
Those who pay get the say.
The Democratic Party's donors sought to protect the town from industrial gravel mining and keep Milan rural (goals shared by the vast majority of Milan residents), not to benefit personally by development or mining. As a town, we're fortunate to have people like these. Team Talmage believes we should be uniting the people of Milan around our common interests, not dividing them.

More Facts:
The Citycrats have taken over the Democrats The Milan Democratic Committee includes members who were Democrats in Milan when Lyndon Johnson was president. One of the five does indeed have ties to the “city.”
Look at their tactics, they disrupt meetings and make unsubstantiated claims. Van Talmage, Pauline Clark, Diane May, Ross Williams, and Bill Jeffway have at all times conducted themselves in a civil manner and made no unsubstantiated claims.
Beware! Talmage gave Jeffway control over the town's official website. Control of the website resides with the Supervisor and Town Board (so say the rules adopted by the town board in March 2004). Jeffway volunteered to post pictures of Memorial Day ceremonies, Little League and Teen night to generate interest in town activites. The town board can request they be taken down.

Clark (who will not enroll in a party.....) Councilwoman Clark has “No Party Affiliation” like over one quarter of Milan’s voters !
Clark (who...refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance) Councilwoman Clark says the pledge but not as loud as Jim Jeffreys has decided she should. Clark served in the Diplomatic Corp in the Reagan administration with a top secret security clearance...No need to question her patriotism!
Jeffway, Talmage & Clark... already picked "new" Democratic candidates for Town Board - before the Democratic caucus.. GOP Chair Jeffreys wrote a Sept. 2003 letter to Milan Republican recommending a slate of candidates for their caucus. This is what committees do. Only a caucus can select candidates. Yes Talmage is on the Democratic Committee, no Clark is not a Democrat! There’s real info at www.milanNYdems.org

more as it comes in ....
