"Leadership is action, not position."
Dems select candidates

Supervisor Van Talmage, of the Town of Milan, announced the formation of Team Talmage, a political committee, to support candidates for the town board including Talmage, for Supervisor, and Diane May and Ross Williams for council positions. Talmage said the clear purpose is to "Lead Milan Forward".

Talmage will be seeking re-election for a second term as supervisor. May and Williams will be seeking the two council positions that are up for election. They hope to join Pauline Clark to return majority control of the board to the Democratic-Conservative line.

"The hope is", Talmage stated, "to continue the good work started in the first term, in which we brought forth a new Comprehensive Plan, joined the Greenway Compact, opened town Government, improved the overall administration of the Town and stabilized the town taxes."

Both Diane and Ross have local roots: May hails from Port Ewen, worked locally in her early years and is a graduate of Kingston High School. Williams grew up in Red Hook, worked on a Milan farm, and graduated from Red Hook Central School. Diane brings her work ethic, organizational skills, and experience in government. Ross brings his IBM-honed leadership skill, his technical capabilities, and his dedication to Milan to the team. Williams is chair of the Milan Zoning Board of Appeals and headed the town’s Comprehensive Plan Board that spent a year and a half working with the community to develop a plan for Milan's future.

The election of May and Williams by the citizens of Milan will put the town on the right track for the future.
